Solution

Details:
7” x 1.5” x 3/4” piece of wood
5/8” diameter center hole
1/4” end holes (Centered, 1” from ends)
Wood beads from craft store
3/16” diameter rope

I made it in about 15 minutes. From my limited survey, it takes the average person about 30 minutes to solve.

Let’s analyse this… Only 5 seconds with a pair of scissors… and 29:55 minutes to tie the rope back together.

Great job mt’ and the ideal present for a relo’ or associate that annoys the hell out of you… just hide THEIR scissors.

PS. I thought the solution link was going to be an add for bargain basement straight jackets.

If the end holes are big enough to pass the loop through there is a second solution.

Not on this one. If you watch the video, you will see that I sealed the ropes in the block. However, I get what you are saying…see my previous puzzle :)
