Slab top table

Just finished this table, made from wood liberated from my friends burn pile. It’s pine with mahogany for the bowties and tenon pins. The stain is steel wool and vinegar. Any filler is wood glue, sawdust and coffee. The check in the top is filled with epoxy mixed with coffee. The spanner is a thru tenon with a pin, under the top is another spanner dovetailed in for stability. The top is fastened with figure 8s.

Awesome! I like the base … looks quite sturdy. Good job on the butter-flies. Good work with the coffee … I have used tea in the same way. Again, good work!

Gorgeous. That is a project I’d like to tackle someday.
