Quick project for my sister's husband. Made from Maple, Walnut and a tiny piece of Cherry. All joints glued. Finished with mineral oil/bee's wax. Large enough for the "Deli Size" bagels. Design from an Internet search.
John- Thanks! Actually, I guess I should have tried it before sending it to him!
Mike- Thank You!
Hoss- Thanks!
Jim- Thank You! Feel free to steal the design, I did! Noticed on our weather that your area still is a little "chilly". My Mom used to make quilts but she never mentioned a special ironing board. I'll have to ask her about it.
Jbay- Thanks! This one should work!
Woodcox- Thank You! If you make one, post it so we can see your version!
Charles- Thanks!- According to the "New Yorker Bagels, there are about 2000 injuries per year when people slice bagels. Who knew??
Klaus- Thank You!
Thanks everyone for all of the views and making this a Daily Top 3! I really appreciate!
The size of the ironing board copies what I suspect is a commercial model at one of the quilt stores here in town. Sherie and her friends love the size of that board, and told me what the size was, and that it needed steam escape holes. Sherie has a TV tray type of ironing board to take to retreats, made out of wood. I copied the hole size and spacing. I will post it as a project when it is painted.
I made just the board for one of Sherie's friends, because she already had a used chest of drawers for a cabinet. Sherie wanted to use the underneath space for storage, you must know this term, storage for her "stash", meaning of fabric.
I have two other projects on deck for a new house for Sherie's daughter, so I am a little busier than usual…
