This is a piece of 2”x4” drop
3 1/2” x 1 1/2” x 1 1/2”
I just cut off the bottom first
then cut out the keyway
then cut the top off
then drill a hole and cut out the box!
glue the bottom back on sand and wha la!
this is a simple way of pleasing a four year old
so she can hide her fancy jewelry from her
stuffed animals! hahahaha!

Glad that You have such a great relationship with Your Daughter. In this busy world, its a hard thing to do. Hhe will remember that dad when She is thirty years olf, or so. The reason I know, been there, done that!

Hey what size band saw blade did you use for that. I have a pattern for a moon shaped box like this that I’ve been meaning to try.

I made one of these that I saw in a scrollsaw magazine, but your inside compartment is different. I made it just because it looked cool. My daughter saw it and it is now in her room.
Yours looks good. I look forward to seeing larger ones when you make them.

I saw the idea this weekend and hand sketched it
on to a piece of wood and went for it!
its not from a pattern its just how i sketched it and cut
it, the possiblities are endless on ways to design it!
