My Worksharp is a great tool for sharpening chisels. I made an add on to provide more versatility to the sharpening system.
The add on is fairly simple, a small block of wood with a 1/2” hole to mount on the end of the machine’s tool rest. The block is shaped to fit the contour of the machine. A 5/16” dowel provides an optional tool rest that allows me to hold the tool across the face of the sharpening wheel. For some tools I prefer this angle for holding the chisel.

Looks like a quick and useful addition. How do you like using MDF disks on the Worksharp?

Thanks, I haven’t used the MDF discs enough to have a good answer. I got the idea from Stumpy Nubs, they had a very good review on the Worksharp machine. It’s not easy to get buffing compound onto the MDF discs. I roughed one up with 80 grit sandpaper, that helped. So far I’m encouraged with the results.
