Toy box #2

I kept all the goods and corrected all my bads from my first toy box and came up with this toy box for my sons babysitter. I love the contrast between the cherry and maple. The best part of this box is the maple panels were made from salvaging a coffee table that my neighbor put at the curb as trash (I’m guessing that no one else picked it up because it had huge dents and mold all over it – nothing a good cleaning and a planner couldn’t take care of). I had to design the box around the panel sizes I could make out of the old table – it took a little extra planning and added a little extra stress knowing that a bad cut would ruin the project. I added my logo inside the box with a my branding iron – I’ll show you that as my next project.

Nicely done! I like your solution for the lid.

great piece, I also love the design of the lid. Knowing my daughter she would manage to have a hand on one of the contact points when she closed the lid but the idea of limiting the possibilities of that.

Jeff, I too am a fan of the lid on your box. I may use that sometime. Very nice toy box.
