We moved into a new house in January and the coat closet is not next to the door, there are also hickory floors that I don’t want to scratch up with gravel from the driveway. This was the end result.

The base is birch plywood and poplar, the top is poplar finished with stain and a thick coat of poly. I made it to fit a pair of plastic boot trays so that the water from shoes doesn’t damage the wood.
