Hi. I am still making an assortment of boxes. Have not posted one lately but thought I would show this one. The main reason for my posting is because this is my first ever attempt at dove tails. Still a lot to learn but not a faiure either. Made from cedar like the last one posted but added a tray made from some really green popular. Tray and box bottom lined with black felt. Lid has rounded edges and solid brass hinges. Only finish is about five coats of poly. Thank you for taking the time to look.

-- Donnie-- listen to the wood.

great work, thanks for letting me know what type of wood i have in my shop too. I have some poplar like that it looks almost black with purple and green mixed. THANKS i hate working with poplar though.

The Saints are cool in my book but the real reason for the emblem is I really like it. Means flower-lily in french. Or it could be it is in the seal of The House of BOURBON.

I haven’t attempted using cedar yet for any projects. I’ve seen several projects recently using cedar that are quite beautiful – this being one of them. I think I will have to get me some and see what I can come up with. The dovetales look good. Did you hand cut the dovetails?

docholladay – no these are not hand cut. Not quite ready for that yet.

Very handsome box. The dovetails look crisp. I really like the inside trays and felt work. Nice touch.
