This is my first project since July of 2016, and in January I finally found something that cough my eye. This gun cabinet was it and I personally think it came out beautiful. Made out of popular then conditioned with Charles Neil’s Blotch Control. Then stained with an old America oil based stain, then sprayed with general finishes water based top coat – semi gloss. glass was cut by my local glass cutter just undersized for wood movement. happy with the outcome and learned a lot from this project about clear coat finish and mortise and tenon joinery. Cheated a little bit and used the Kreg jig to secure the plywood to the cabinet instead of datos. Happy with it all and cant wait to start my next.
