Resaw a pine 4×4 into a few slabs, add a couple pieces of 1/4” plywood scraps and do a bit of hand tool work. Stanley 45 to make a few grooves, including the two to split off the lid, leaving the lip to seal the box up. Brass hardware. Just a coat of the Infamous Witch’s Brew. other than the bandsaw to do the resaw work, the rest was by handtools. I might get good at building a box…one of these days….

Great job. Your hand tool work is awesome.

Another nice box made with hand power. And re-used wood too. Good job Bandit.

It’s a real nice box and would be good for a lot of things. What are you going to use it for? It would make a real nice accessory tool box. As JR said, “it’s got a lot of character.”

Good job, Bandit!

Great looking box, Bandit—looks like you’re really getting the hang of dressing up these utility boxes!
