I am just starting out woodworking and wanted to build a toy chest for our corgis. I liked the idea of a pirate chest so made one of pine and stained it darker. The front folds down in a flap that can be closed and held in place with a lip that fits into a rabbet on the lid to keep it closed.

I think the handles are too small and it needs some sort of closure/lock for decoration on the front.

The dogs do walk up the front to select toys and it keeps the family room a bit tidier.

No idea why the last photo rotatedj

Now that’s a cool idea and will look good in the room. Nice build.

This chest looks great and is so nicely done. Congratulations and welcome to Lumberjocks.
