Hey Lumberjacks! Happy Friday!

Wanted to share this project with you. This was a big one for me as it was the first time I ever filmed a project that I built. This was my jump from photo blogging to video tutorial.

Make sure you watch the video as I’m super proud of it as my first one! Here it is for you to check out!

The project is simple, but the prep, planning, and execution was a ton of work (and really fun). Woodworking tutorials are perfect for me, as they combine passions for building and creating, design work, filming, and editing.

Before I launched this video, I went through weeks of designing logos, planning a format, practicing filming techniques, learning Adobe Premiere (I previously used FCP X), setting up all my channels, and figuring out what story I wanted to tell. I loved every second of it, and I love doing it now more than ever as I improve upon all of my skills in all areas associated with DIY tutorials. .

My full channel is here for you to check out

...and my full blog with more details is here

I’ve learned so much since doing tutorials; building techniques, filming techniques, angles, and tricks, how to communicate to my audience.

I still don’t like my voice, but I’m getting use to it.

Thanks for checking it out and I hope you enjoy!

wow, where did you come up with this. I could not stop laughing as it is one of the best ways to tell the time, excellent, just excellent piece of wall art. I’m sure that you will sell a lot of them.
Remember have fun and make lots of sawdust.

@misterchips thanks! It was actually a reference my mom had sent me a long time ago and I modified a bit based on the materials I had on hand to make them (some paint, nails, etc.). I actually made all four of them as gift for peeps – I’d totally make them if people had an interest in buying them (heck part of the point of the vid was for people to take it and build their own!)

thanks for watching the vid!

In relation to your video the makeup artist did a great job on your hair.
The video is very well done also, I would be interested in finding out the technical details.

I think the first time a person hears their own voice they have the same opinion.
You could always get Charlton Heston to do voice overs for you …. no wait he is dead ….maybe Lady Gaga, or if your short on cash Justin Beaver.

Oh yes your project…. nice work adds meaning to the term working out of your ute

Overall 9 out of 10 gotta leave some leway for improvement

@Robscastle I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic with the hair since it’s pretty messy the whole time other than my intro/outro!

I’d be happy to share some of the tech details (they’re very simple). What specifics are you looking for?

Also yea – no workshop for me – I usually build in my carport or if I have time I can use my parents garage but its a pain to haul all of my equipment. Thanks for checking it out – I appreciate the support and feedback. Let me know if you want any specifics on the tech set up – it is relatively simple for someone to get going!

Nice build. Love the humor, it’s one of those things that just makes someone smile.

I believe you and you hair style was very well presented.
If that was me and I had just jumped out of bed I can assue you my hair It wouldnt look so neat, what left of it that is.
So its a complement.

I dont need any figureing out I usually post a funny replys every now and then, mainly to see if anybody talks to me as I am at home bored and have a weird sence of humour as well hence the Beaver comment but I see that was wasted by the looks of it . Beieber

I enjoy seeing creative posts eye catching posts and anything outside the “box” have very low tolerance to Gypsys but otherwise I am no different to the other LJs apart from possibly not being as skilled but I am getting there.
