WOW! I was fortunate enough to make the Daily Top 3 yesterday and that was incredibly exciting for me. I’m not sure if that is a big deal here or it happens often, but any time I am able to show off my work to a bit of a larger audience really brings excitement to my hobby.

The next project I wanted to share with you is a box joint-styled bench I built last year made entirely of framing lumber. The full build for it can be found here at my blog that you should check out as well.

No video for this one as this was before I started filming my DIY tutorials, but if you do want to check out my YouTube channel, you can click here.

While this isn’t a true box joint – I guess you could call it a faux box joint bench, this was actually my favorite project that I build so far. I only wish I could go back and make a tutorial of me building it as it was incredibly satisfying to see come together.

Hope you enjoy!

Thanks @pottz! This project took me two days – one for the ripping and glue up, one for the finishing and sanding and oiling – I’d recommend it for any outdoor patio as well!

Thanks @bobsboxes – i love the simple design of it – it was a modified design that I built after watching a guy at www.modernbuilds.com build it incase you want the source.

Beautiful bench. I also tried such joinery of separate boards on small cabinet once.

Thanks @Majuvia – really love this technique as it is incredibly strong with just gluing and clamping – do you have a picture of it you can share?
