These are a few of my carvings after just two weeks in a beginning carving class with a seasoned carver and teacher Don Mertz. He teaches classes at the Dayton Woodcraft store and here at Wilmington College. He has a blog called Wood Bee Carvers has a lot of good information on it. You can also follow more of my progress at .Sleepydog Wood Shop along with some of my other projects.

Nice start to add another feather to your cap! I can foresee lots of small christmas presents being sent out this year.

Good job Joey, Keep it up. Like the Santa. The LOML and I have a collection of over 500 Santas, all different! It’s a job to put up and take down every year.

There ain’t nothin’ short about those carvings, Joey. Keep it up – you did a very good job on them and you show a lot of promise.
