After some time of using a tool roll for everything around home & friends, some more tools wanted to be added to it and the jocks itch asked for a new toolbag.
This time the original tool roll was included into a sheet of synthetic leather that folds up to make a bag. A flask of WD-40 (one of the most important tools), a stronger cordless driver, a level and a folding kataba made it into this composition.
The synthetic leather is stuffed with polyethylene foam to make it more ridgid yet comfortable.
The bag can be opened completely and displays then the tools just like the roll, a feature that I then did hardly use.
The main drawback is the discrepancy between the limited stability of a (even stuffed) bag and the weight of the tools.
When space is a major issue, this is a design for you. Anyone more keen on lightning access to your tools, please embark with me on the route to #3.
