I was informed that I we needed a corner cabinet to house a new television in what was going to become our exercise room. So I took up the challenge and went to work. I have never attempted a corner cabinet before and had not really thought about how they are constructed. This project taught me a lot about the skills I need to improve on.
It is Hear pine on its face with the body and side being clear Pine and Plywood. It fit and it works well but the mating surfaces between the plywood and the Heart Pine Panels are not as straight and tight as I produce on my more traditional projects. I doubt anyone else will ever notice these flaws so I went ahead with the work.
The Heart Pine is re-purposed from the walls, floors and pews of an old country church long gone before I every moved to the area. I really like the color and character the scars give the wood. I know of nothing else like it. Thank you for looking.

Really nice piece. Glad to see that you are still making shavings.

Beautiful.. I love heart pine. I love the way you didn’t make it into a triangle. AND I’ve been to L.A. a few times.
