I’ve made three boxes that were auctioned off for The Boys and Girls Club of Orange. Each March they hold a charity dinner and silent auction. My boxes are a small addition to the total number of items donated for auction. In nay case they seem to bring a nice price which all goes to the charity.

This box is walnut (obviously) from a large limb off a tree in our yard. The cherry interior bling is from a local cherry tree that was a casualty of a hurricane from several years back. The lid is local pecan donated by that same hurricane. The box is approximately 12×8 high and 6 deep.

I toyed with adding a shallow “hidden” space in the base of the box, but it didn’t work out the way I wanted. Maybe next time.

That’s a great looking jewelry box for a great cause—thanks for helping the kids out!

I really like this box! The style is wonderful. Going to a great cause. I love the story where the wood came from.
