got this from my father-in-law, (mahogany), sent the blade out to be sharpened, I’m in the process of learning how to do that myself…this is a great tool to work with

Nice work. You’ll definitely want to learn to sharpen by yourself… sharp plane irons last a surprisingly short time. About any method will work, I use a honing guide and waterstones but kind of wish I had diamond stones for less mess.

very cool to have and keep an old tool like that alive rather than collecting dust,old planes never die only the user.hopefully you will pass it on too someday.
