This is an oak Arts and Crafts clock I built once I built my shop. This was the first involved project I attempted which provided me the opportunity to work through some big challenges like the mortise and tendon construction and the black walnut pegs. I have to admit, I made some kindling with some of my efforts before I came up with something I was satisfied with. Nothing fancy about the clock mechanism, just an AA battery powered unit from the hobby store. I found a clock face online I liked and printed it off to keep the overall vibe in the Arts and Crafts style. It sits on our TV cabinet (too tall for the fireplace mantle) and keeps accurate time as long as I remember to change the battery twice a year. After I built this clock I bought a mortising machine which I’ve used on several other projects since.

Sometimes the best projects are simple. That’s why I really like arts and crafts style. Nice Job.

What a wonderful clock and so beautifully done. Congratulations and welcome to Lumberjocks.

Thanks for all the complements, it gave me a lot of confidence to try other things.
