Segmented wooden bowls, turned, purple heart, walnut, maple

Several years ago I tried my hand at turning segmented wooden bowls. These two bowls were made for my mom and my mother-in-law. They were made from walnut, maple and purple heart. Both moms were very pleased and continue to keep them displayed. There is a lot of tedious work in making these so it was a great novelty project but not one that I’ve repeated in years.

I really like the second bowl. The pattern is very defined and set off. Good work!

Great work!!! I like your wood selection and design. I really like the feature ring in the second bowl and the star patterns just make the bowl grab you. Thanks for sharing.

I love segmented turning, so I loved your bowls very much, good designs, good selection of wood, good finish, good man and lucky moms. By the way, the second bowl has got my number 1 vote.
