Hey everyone!
I just wanted to stop in and say that I’ve already learned a lot from this site in the past couple weeks. I used a lathe a couple times when I was younger but it had been about 10 years since I messed with one. So I talked my wife into letting me buy the harbor freight lathe. It seems to be a great lathe for what I am wanting to do. I’ve made a couple little things just to get my feet wet.. This is just a quick little bowl I made glueing a few scraps together.
Look forward to picking up advice on here.

Ethan

I’m not a turner, but that looks like real good results for glued up scraps.

HF does have some basic good tools for starting out. Seems like you found one.

Steve.

And welcome to LJ.

Thanks guys. I got another bigger stack glued up and a few oak logs drying. Now I’m gonna start my search for wood….

Looks good to start. I am one of the many turners on this forum. There is plenty of experience on here. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any question. I will do the best I can to answer them. If I can’t answer your question, I guarantee that I can put you in contact with someone who can.
