So my youngest son is a USAF pilot flying the KC135 Stratotanker. His mission is ariel refueling for various combat aircraft. His son was born last October and I wanted to make something for him to have as he grows up. What better than a toy rider like the big plane his dad flys. I used the KC135 as inspiration, project is ashe. Wheels were sourced off the internet, steering gear has two thrust bearings for stability. Boom lowers with hook to “tank” toy fighter planes (coming next!). Engines are exterior PVC electrical conduit. Markings are for Kadena AFB, Okinawa where they’re going to be stationed for a while.

That’s a pretty cool KC-135! I’m sure your grandson will enjoy many hours playing with it!

Looking forward to seeing the fighter planes!
