Square bowls

These were my first time of trying to do a what I would call an inverted bowl. I was using some scraps of maple and walnut and wanted to make something different. In the last picture it shows that I really didn’t turn it square as I was afraid to try that as this time. So I glued on some sacrifice wood which I then cut off with bandsaw and trimmed up with the RAS to get it back to square. They are ~6.5 in square and 2 in tall.

I was trying a couple of different designs to see which I liked best. The choices seem to be mixed but the preference seems to go to the one with the lip on top.

Regards,

Al

Yes..definately lip on top…...... I like the use of walnut in the corners…almost looks like legs… well done. and gives me ideas.

Very nice. I like the square bowl with the rim the best. Thanks for sharing.

Really nice bowls and stand-out designs. True to my motto, no doubt I will “research” this one in the future.
