Here was a great little project. Replacement tinker toy sticks! It seems like now that the little guy is playing with them, they are disappearing like crazy…..must be the elves :) So I cut up some 3/8” dowels to the same size, put a cut in the ends with the band saw, and then died them using mixol water based die. I LOVE this dye by the way. These colors are two coats of 12 drops per table spoon of water. Leave it to dry over night, and sand and oil. Cure for a bit more than a week inside and poof, new tinkers. I’ve also turned some of the rounds, but have to wait to build a jig to drill the holes. So many great ideas now that the garage is clean! It’s on the list though…..

Souichiro… so does making all of these qualify you now as a great ‘tinkerer’?....LOL

Great idea… if I was a still a kid, with what I know now, that idea could be expanded on with longer sizes, etc., which could catapult Tinker Toy project to the elevation of Legos.
