Nice board. Not a good finish though. Vegetable oil can cause bacteria in your board..Go to wal-greens or equal and get some mineral oil.

Charles is here in Canada like myself and mineral oil seems to be impossible to find up here. Any Canadian sources would be great if you have them.

Nice board, My OCD would prefer the color be more balanced but that is just me being boring. I am sure mineral oil is available, I think, as degoose said, Aussies and British may call it liquid parrafin oil. No Idea what it is in French though. It is what they make “baby oil” out of – if that helps. I am not convinced that vegetable oil causes bacteria – D1st may be right, but vegetable oil will eventually go rancid. Mineral oil is more stable in this regard so a better choice. fwiw – I use olive or coconut oil on the board I use everyday.

Just found a source here in Canada actually labeled as “Wood Treatment Oil” – “Approved for use on surfaces where food is prepared.” You can get it at ikea.
