I bought some card scrapers a while back and then recently decided to buy the Veritas scraper kit with honer etc and next thing you know I have stuff laying everywhere on the bench. So I threw together this simple box to hold everything.
Using some 1/2 inch cherry, I laid out the size and cut everything up (sorry not a lot of assembly pics -simple box-nothing fancy or tough)

I added a side shelf to hold the scrapers and a divider to throw in my cheapie HF mini planes and my Stanley 271 router.

It just made it easier to grab it when I need it rather than poking around on the bench for everything.

Wiped it down with some BLO and called it a day :)

Thanks for looking

Looks good … where does it live?

Right now the workbench top ( 72 X 36 maple 1 3/4 thick) is sitting on a 48 X 30 steel table crammed in my basement utility room which houses the furnace, water softener, etc. and the box gets tossed on the storage shelves against the wall. Not a very glamorous location but once I get everything finally squared away, I think some type of storage rack for my hand planes and clamps etc will get put together and probably more storage type boxes for other items, still kicking that can around in my head right now.

Good luck coming up with a system … your box deserves to be seen. I used to keep all of tools in a tool chest … found I was not using everything I had. I turned one corner of my shop into a corner cabinet/rack … now I see all of my tools at a glance. It’s funny how when you put them out there for everyone to see, how clean you tend to keep them!
