Great job, I love the contrasting wood on the top. What finish did you use?

4 coats of poly. Used steel wool to flatten finish in between each coat.

Very nice work, I love shaker furniture.

Very nice! What did you do to join the frame around the maple? How did you account for the wood expansion issues?
I’m building a coffee and end table and plan on framing birdseye maple with walnut…any info on how yours has held up and the joinery method would be greatly appreciated!

Greetings James:.... Beautiful table. I really like building Shaker furniture. It’s probably my favorite of all to build. I’ve built several pieces, and it seems to go over good with some of my people I do work for. Clean lines and straight-forward design, with no frills and fancy ornaminations. The Shakers had it right…. keep it simple.
