Here is a carved floral display I just completed. The arrangement is hand carved from Basswood. The base is redwood burl. The overall dimension is approx 17” x 10”. Approx 110 hours. The floral display is 5 separate hand carved hibiscus, nearly a dozen separate leaves, a single fern leaf, a few individual buds, and a few little flowers. All the individual pieces were fitted together and epoxy’ed in place… the larger flowers are pinned to the based. The back of the base is CNC engraved and numbered. I plan to add many displays to this collection.

I made a 2 minute video with progress pictures that can be seen here NOTE… its best to watch in HD or you wont see the detail.

Thanks for looking :)

Scott,

Your work is really exquisite! I’m always amazed when so few people view and comment on such incredible work. This should have been #1 for the day!

I just spent some time with my father and everyday we would check out his hibiscus to see how it was flowering. We thought it should be going through a dormant time but there were new blooms nearly every day. Your carving is so perfect that if it were painted (I really do like that you left it natural), it would look absolutely real.

Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely astonish work! I can’t believe it’s made of wood- so unreal but truly realistic.
