A large and low round coffee table, made in three pieces of solid American oak finished in wax-oil.

nice clean simple design,love it.by chance did you design and build the chair also?they work very well together.let me also say welcome to lumber jocks.

Thanks. unfortunately I didn’t design/build the chair its, a famous designer from Denmark (Hans J. Wegner).

I really like this table. Would the style/design be considered mid-century modern? Did you use a wide belt or drum sander on the top? I imagine it would be tough to get such a large area so flat and smooth without something like that. The legs look really nice too!

Hi Bill, I designed it thinking it to be modern… but I can see what you mean! it was initial put through a wide thicknesser in two parts after the initial gluing then a hand held orbital sander to finish it off.

Table looks great! Really like the finish, just the right balance of gloss vs flat for the color.

Curious if you have any pictures of the leg glue up? I’d be interested to hear how you went about gluing them at that angle.
