Built this credenza to be 12” deep and save some room in the foyer. All the box games for grandkids fit in the bottom with the sliding doors. The top drawer is shallow – due to the bottom mount slide hardware – but has plenty of room for keys and such. Left over bamboo flooring was used for the top, and to frame the doors. Figured maple was from a rough sawn board with a lot of imperfections, so it took some ” figuring” to lay out all the pieces. I looked for sliding door tracks online, but decided to make them instead from the maple. It was easier than I thought (duh!) and blends in nicely. It’s built like a cabinet, using 3/4” plywood for the sides and sublayer for the top. The panels in the sliding doors are 1/4” plywood. Maybe I’ll spruce them up some day with some better looking wood.

Figured maple was from a rough sawn board with a lot of imperfections – turned out to be a master piece…
