This is an easy project to make but pretty challenging to solve. You spin the blocks until you have solved the math problem on each of all 4 sides.

I’ve included a short video showing how it works.

So if you get the first side do all the others fall into place or is there more than one solution? I have seen similar puzzles using shapes (star circle square triangle etc) – stack the blocks so one of each shape appears on each side – but there was more than one way to stack them. Thanks for posting. -- Leafherder mtairymd249 posts in 1557 days #2 posted 02-19-2017 04:19 PM Thanks. Yep, this is math teacher worthy. Even though you can easily solve a single side, I only know of one solution that solves all four sides. I posted the numbers (not solution) on the instructables website for people to try. Someone used a computer to solve it on Reddit after spending 30 minutes trying to calculate it by hand. Symbols is a nice idea. I’ve also seen versions where people spell out words. I couldn’t think of anything clever to spell :) Great job, I bet the math teachers love this (and the students probably hate it).
