This is an easy project to make but pretty challenging to solve. You spin the blocks until you have solved the math problem on each of all 4 sides.

I’ve included a short video showing how it works.

Great job, I bet the math teachers love this (and the students probably hate it). So if you get the first side do all the others fall into place or is there more than one solution? I have seen similar puzzles using shapes (star circle square triangle etc) – stack the blocks so one of each shape appears on each side – but there was more than one way to stack them.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks. Yep, this is math teacher worthy. Even though you can easily solve a single side, I only know of one solution that solves all four sides. I posted the numbers (not solution) on the instructables website for people to try. Someone used a computer to solve it on Reddit after spending 30 minutes trying to calculate it by hand.

Symbols is a nice idea. I’ve also seen versions where people spell out words. I couldn’t think of anything clever to spell :)

It’s a nice project and looks like a lot of fun.
