Peruvian Walnut and Oak.
Built the oak one from a plan I found in an old Woodsmith but built the walnut one bigger and sturdier with no plan to practice relative dimensioning. For me, following a plan or doing a lot of measuring and calculating takes some of the fun out of woodworking, so I took a project I already had some experience with and tried getting pratice building something up without a plan but being methodical and thinking things through enough so as not to make any dumb mistakes.
I think I’m going to continue working on the finish though. Not quite as smooth as I’d like.

Wow, just don’t let my wife see those. She’s been after me for years to make some out of a ‘nice’ wood.
