I decided to build a downdraft box for my wife :o)

I ordered the metal panels from Rockler and downloaded the plans. I modified them a bit by extending the base so that I could clamp the box to prevent it from sliding when using it. Also, since I have a small shop, I had to find a convenient, out-of-the-way storage location for the box – fortunately it fit nicely under my table saw extension.

I must admit that I was disappointed in Rockler because they didn’t make it clear that four panels are needed, not just two.

I also purchased an adjustable fence for my inexpensive router table. I added the extensions to accommodate the longer fence pieces – and I’m extremely happy with it so far. The dust collection port plus the safety shield were a real bonus.
