VDAY gift for my lady. Finished with mineral oil. I had a 1”x4” 2 foot 2’ long of nicely marbled Tiger Wood. I Re-sawed it in half to get my working pieces to the thickness that I wanted which was about a quarter inch, after jointing, power planing and matching grain I was able to put together a lid and a bottom. The rest was cut into 2 1/2” pieces. Corners are mitered 45 degrees glued and pin nailed. I 45ed the bottom of all the pieces and then also 45ed the bottom piece to create a unique look. It’s about 4”x7”. The strips of wood inside the box front and back we’re put in for added strength and cover a goof but it turned out well. I hope this was the more that you wanted to know about and thank you for your comment. Thank you all for your comments.

Fantastic wood wood selection, I like the grain pattern especially the way the lid front edge appears part of the box compartment.
