Here are some more boxes I have turned. From left to right: Black Locust, Maple, Myrtle, Laurel, and the one up front I think is maple but not sure. I have really gotten into turning boxes. They are quick and fairly easy. Also they make nice gifts. My wife loves them for rings and other jewelry.

those turned “boxes” look great… always thought of a box having flat sides… lol

What a great little collection of turnings you’ve done! I really enjoy seeing the variety of woods you’ve used…the beauty of all of those different colors of wood. And hey, if someone’s birthday comes up that you may have accidentally forgotten about, you have an instant gift ready made…who wouldn’t love to get one of these!! : ) Thanks for sharing!

What technique are you using? the one box that I’ve made so far was anything but easy

Gorgeous. My favorite is the black locust – it looks all burled. I’m fairly sure the one in front is not maple. It looks like ash, but greener.
