This was a project i built for my mom for mothers day last year. She saw a friends live edge table and loved the look so i decided to build an outdoor bench for her back porch. This cherry is a slab i got from my grandfather-in-law’s wood collection(he is the one who got my into woodworking). I used sweetgum for the legs and decided to use through tenons for the legs. The slab had a pretty big crack so i tried my hand at in-letting a bow tie to help keep it from getting bigger. I finished the bench in spar urethane so it would be able to stand being outside. Thanks for looking.

Very nice. I love how the wood changes color as you get closer to the edges. God’s creations are amazing.

This bench is so beautiful and displays a lot nice craftsmanship.

That’s really a beautiful piece!
