So my wife decided she wanted to redecorate the guest bathroom. I’m thinking add a little tile, do a little painting so I said sure honey. Just decide what you want to do and I’ll get on it. You have to understand the whole story here. We built the house 13 years ago and since then I have rebuild or modified, not redecorated, every room in the house at least once. But we won’t go there. Anyway, we are big into antiques, not the fancy stuff but worn, used, aged pieces that I can work on. So she comes home with this old wooden medicine cabinet. The real story here is I had to cut 3 inches off the backside of it and move or extend the wall out 4 inches to make it fit because of the drain vent pipe inside the wall. What was I thinking……….

I know what you were thinking … the same thing that goes through my mind when SWMBO comes up with something like this for me to do. Sleeping and eating in the house trumps sleeping and eating in the garage any day of the week!

It is a WOMEN thing. If it makes you feel any better, we had our house built 9 years ago. I had the whole house retiled (floors) my bathroom had a major make over and my husband almost had a major heart attack with the bathroom price tag. Happy wife happy home.

Amen to that Cher. If I sold our house today, I’d lost $50k. But momma is happy. The master bath, now that’s another story. I’ll post that one another time. Let’s just say all was left in the master bath were the studs. I moved everything…...

I demolished my entire bathroom I do have before and after photos and the new one is wow compared to the old one. I will post photos soon. There is nothing nicer than a bathroom that looks like a hotel at least I get to feel I am pampered in my new one, the old one was a disaster.

Very nice work.

....the humor part of that story is, there is a lesson I should have learnt if my woman wanting something old, something worn to decorate my home – she is ticking no “new” woman in that home..LOL.

Here’s a switch. I came home from work one evening to find an entire bathroom: toilet, tub, sink, built-in medicine cabinet etc. (with the plumbing) on the front porch. My wife said she wanted the bathroom rebuilt so she demo’d it to get the project moving. Married 30 years and never had any idea she could do that!

To all, Thanks for you comments and encouragement. I think it always important to laugh at ourselves before anyone else has a chance to.

Blessing to all
