For a while I knew some protection was needed on the gas tanks, so last summer I decided to start building a fence/gate to reduce any potencial danger. I made the frame out of pallet wood, (its a good way to recycle and save money) and gave it a mahogany finish to protect from the elements and give it a nice color to match the house. I think it turned out great, what do you think??
I also wanted to make some locking mechanism out of wood so it doesnt slide back and forward, if you have any ideia/sugestion please share it in the coments…

a little hinge inside on the top rail with an arm coming out and a block on the underside at the end.
Hold it at 90 deg close the gate and allow the arm to enter the gas bottle guard ring and let it drop down.
the gate is now held shut but is easly opened by the Gas service guy.
