A friend of mine was a springboard diving Olympic Bronze Medalist in in the 1972 Munich Summer Olympics . He was invited to be part of the 1996 Olympic Torch Relay. He carried the torch from Santa Monica to Marina Del Rey, CA. These are photos of the wall mount and portable display stand that I made for him. Both are walnut and incorporate rare earth magnets to make the torch easily removable.
He often does public speaking about his olympic experience. The display stand breaks down into sections to to make it possible to carry in luggage.

That’s a beautiful Olympic torch holder! I love the walnut, and the engineering you put into it!
