Here is a box that I built on saturday to give to my niece on sunday for her baptism. I started at about 9:30pm and put the first coat of finish on at 7am (all nighter) With two little ones always wanting to come in the workshop/garage it was hard to find any extended period of time to actually get it started, and im a procrastinator :). The box is made from figured maple, ebony, and purple heart. It was finished with lacquer. Any comments appreciated. Thanks all!

Gorgeous box, wing. I like the multi layered look to your contrasts. All around excellent build.

very nice work, i have the same problem with my daughter coming in the work shop. My shop is so small too so this makes it tough to move around and turn on machines and just work comfortably.

Thanks all for the nice comments. Daniel, the box was made just as a keepsake and was used to hold the bracelet we had also given her. No real set purpose, but i guess as she gets older maybe she can use it as a jewelry box.
