Ohio State Block "O"

This is one of many Ohio State intarsia block “O”s I have made throughout the years. It is made of padauk, poplar, walnut, and red oak. I cut out the leaves, buckeyes, and stem on the scrollsaw and shaped the leaves using a belt and palm sander. It is finished with three coats of high-gloss spray on lacquer.

Wow!, I love this. It’s an outstanding project and displays a lot of nice craftsmanship.

Great looking Ohio State “O”! You’ll have to display proudly next season!

Great design and very clean looking. I love padauk and use it a lot. As you may already know, I found that padauk turns to a deep brown as exposed to sunlight. It still looks good, but if you want to maintain the OSU’ish red, keep it out of the sun!

That is a thing of beauty! The craftsmanship is great too! I absolutely love this and might have to make something like this for myself! Go Bucks!
