this was worth all my lunch times at work….alwaws played chess scince my dad tought me…and once the idea got into my head i had too do some thing…. mainly oak for the main box. it had stripes of black walnut around the sides. the top is teak and beach. aslo black walnut and purple heart banding around the check top. the pieces are again teak and beach but the design is what ever i found in my head, finshed in danish on the sides and a hard wax polish for the top…ps im still rubbish at chess but at least i can look good when im loseing :)

Very nice! How do you know which is the king and which is the queen? I think I am missing something…

I think it’s great, gives me ideas of using geometric pieces rather than doing a lot of carving which I’m not ready to start on, esp. with something that you have to repeat.

I really like this concept for a chess set. I agree with David about the carving part.
Very nicely built. Will wait to see the idea for the Queen.

This is great I love the design of the pieces. A departure from the standard chess piece format. Very nice indeed.
