Maple with cherry border. Who know it would lead to 30 something more boards before Christmas. My furry quality control inspector doesn’t let anything shoddy slip by.

Finally got a break after Christmas and converted my sunroom into the wood shop, with easy access to the screened in deck when the weather is nice enough to work outside. Made half of the living room into wood storage and finishing.

I’m hooked!

Boards look great! No one will notice that little flaw on the maple and walnut one? LOL!

I gave that one away and made another one that was lined up perfectly for the commissioned piece. Guess I should have posted that picture! ;-)

Very Nice! Now you need to make matching knife blocks to go with them.

The boards look great. What wood did you use for the darker brown?

I like that you have taken over half the living room. I wish my better half would let me do that…

Thanks Josh. The dark wood is walnut. I’ve never really used the living room so it only made sense to use it for wood storage and as a relatively clean room for finishing. All my work tables and tools are on wheels so I can work outside or roll the table into the den for glue up while watching TV.

That is sure a good start with cutting boards.
A nice bunch of boards.

Watch out for that critter! Ours loves the mineral oil finish and for some reason wherever he licks, the color of the wood changes….

Addictive eh?
