I’m down to the last pieces of cedar from hurricane Mathew. So I have to make them all count! I left imperfections in the finish to match the base. Also because cracks will appear when it’s fully dry (a look I love). Turned, sanded to 240, and finished with one coat of my shine sauce. When it’s fully dry it will get more coats and buffed.
Thank you for taking the time to look.

Lovely piece of Cedar Steve, hope it doesn’t crack too much.

I love turning eastern red cedar, it is fun to turn and it makes the entire shop smell good

This is an outstanding piece and the wood is beautiful.

You hit my favorites; cedar—all varieties, and part of a “live-edge”. too.

Neat and very interestingly done.

Really like the bit of live-edge you included.

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you everyone! I have been cooking it in the oven and am happy to report it made it! I’m not always correct on where I think a piece will crack, but for this one I was dead on. After final cleanup, sanding, and buffing I’ll repost it. Thanks again for your kind words everyone.
