Picked up this project from a long time fan of my work. He wanted to surprise his sister (a Harry Potter fan) with a wand for Christmas. After a great description of her and her likes/dislikes I fell in love with making her a custom wand.. and by sheer luck chose her favorite flower… a tulip. Leaves and carved into an ergonomic handle (once an Industrial Designer… always an Industrial Designer.)

Yellow Heart Tulip, Shedua wand and leaves. 7 hours work total.

She loved it so much the client paid me 3 times the price I invoiced him… and sent me a photo documentation of her opening the gift. Success I’d say!!

Very nice. I have made a few wands myself, but never with carvings. I have never tried to carve.
So many of the projects I see on here are “perfect”. They look so precise and polished that the wood has lost all it’s character – it almost looks like plastic. And the project looks like it was bought at a store.
This wand looks like it should, that an artisan took the time to make it. It has character and warmth. I’m impressed.
