My wife had this idea the other day to make a fishing set for the little neighbor girl. Our boys have one of those little wind up fishing games and she loves it. So some time ago I had seen a really cool fishing game on here, and I thought that a wooden block type game would be cool. The fish are cut from hemlock and the pole is turned from ash. (and yep, the dowel is drilled in crooked :(, what can I say…. I’m learning) I did turn a fishing pole line winder thing, but working on the fly sometimes gets the better of you. I couldn’t keep my mind ahead of my hands and drilled the holes too big, maybe next time. Anyway, all and all it turned out pretty cool I think, we’re debating on whether or not I should make a box for them before giving it to her. We’ll see. It doesn’t really show in the pictures, but the fish have this pearl paint on the white/yellow parts. It looks cute for a little girl.

I’m not sure how this link stuff works here, but this is where I saw the wood set. (Much nicer then mine for sure)

Yes. This rocks! Fish are awesome. A box would be great. Maybe with a water or wave-like paint job on the outside…in my humble yet child-like imagination. Very cool!
