I’ve noticed a lot of clocks being posted recently, so I figured I would make one too. I used scrap pieces I have collected over the past year. I looked around for some local tile art and while I found some nice examples, they were more than I wanted to pay. I happened to have some granite counter top scrap so I figure why not use that. The top and bottom are leopard wood, the rails are maple, the side pieces are mahogany. The clock is embedded in a piece of lacewood veneered ash. None of the scrap was over 15” long. The granite makes it fairly heavy for a small project. A couple coats of satin Arm A Seal. After I made it I realized the diversity of the lumber.

Nice looking clock! I’d be more than happy to have it sitting on my desk. I really love the lacewood, beautiful stuff!!! With the exception of the clock being made in china (but, what else are we going to use?), I’d say it’s perfect.

-- Cheers and God Bless

nice clock and just think the granite could have some small traces of meteorite in it. then it won’t be just a bunch of countries but otherworldly as well

I think I would find a more modern looking clock face to go with your awesome design…the wood combo is wonderful : )
