I am a total beginner at woodworking and toy making. This is a small animal train that I recently made and my wife painted. The plans came from a book. I cut it out via a combination of a scroll saw and bandsaw. They are from a pine 1×6, I made the wheels via a keyhole blade in the same 1×6 on a drill press and used 1/4” dowel rod for the axles.

Further details and higher resolution photos can be found on my wife’s blog: www.OurFamilyUnit.com

Cool, animals on Segways.

The two of you did really well with these. They look like they would be a lot of fun.

Great train. If you haven’t found them yet there are some sites where you can get wheels just the size you want. I make all my custom truck and tractor wheels but for pull cars and the like the store bought variety work best for durability and ease.

Love these! Gonna make some wooden toys for my fiance’s first grade class. BTW, really impressed by your wife’s blog. What a cute kid, too. More toys! More toys for the cute kid!
