This was another project for my wife’s salon. I made it out of the cheapest pine you can get at the big box store. I took a lot of work to get the wood to look good. I used a sanding sealer not thinned. After I sanded that smooth I used general finishes honey maple oil stain and then three coats of wipe on poly. This was my first attempt at an inset door with mortised hinges. The gap is not perfect but I am the only one that will ever see the imperfection.

Thanks for looking

A knotty good looking project! Insets are challenging.

A nicely styled and built piece. The finish looks great too.

Since we both live in W Melb, I can see I need to spend some time with you and learn. Very nice. What type of salon does da little women own?

I love the smooth lines and unobtrusive knob which blends in like another knot. I wonder if your wife ever has to look for it. Beautiful.

Very nice cabinet !
How’s it holding up ?
Amazing how the knob just “blends”. : )
