I started this project in November for a Christmas gift for our daughter. But, during the last three months, either my wife or myself have been ill and I wasn’t able to work on this piece as much as I wanted. So, it is now a Valentine gift.

It started out to be a DVD cupboard done in the old colonial style but, I like to experiment and I added a few of my flavors to it such as the corbels on the top corners. I also added the newer styles and rails with a 1/4” sanded plywood front. The shelving is dado-ed in the side panels. Anyway this is my slant on this project. It’s finished with Hickory Gel Stain and a few coats of Lacquer.

That’s a great looking DVD cabinet! I like the design elements you used, including the shiplap back—really adds visual appeal to the top piece. I’ll bet your daughter will love it!

Hey thanks guys. It got to be too long in the process and you know what happens when something takes a long time, you tend to hurry at the end. I cut a few corners and started to get sloppy but, it’s done just the same. Mean Dean, that shiplap back was all hand made with my router. Thanks, I like it too.

Don, that is just downright awesome. Those corbels add a real unique touch to it. Your daughter is really going to love that.

Thanks Guys, I’m glad it’s going out the door though. It’s time to move onto other projects. But, bless your hearts for saying those kind things.
